Five Emperor Coins are a traditional Chinese feng shui charm made from five ancient coins. They’re commonly used near doors, windows, and wealth areas to protect the home from negative energy and attract prosperity.
But according to traditional feng shui, there are three places you should avoid putting them.
First, the kitchen.
The kitchen represents the Fire element, while the coins represent Metal. In the Five Elements system, Fire weakens Metal, so placing the coins in the kitchen is believed to reduce their protective and wealth-attracting energy.
Second, the bathroom.
Bathrooms are associated with moisture, drainage, and stagnant energy. Keeping the coins there is believed to weaken their positive energy and symbolically allow wealth energy to drain away.
Third, near the head of your bed.
Five Emperor Coins carry strong, active Metal energy. Placing them too close to where you sleep may make the bedroom feel less calm and restful. In traditional feng shui, this may contribute to restless sleep, frequent waking, or vivid dreams.
For better placement, keep the coins near your front door, beside a window, under the doorway threshold, or in an appropriate wealth area of the home.
